image that men seems to fear and the cause of many jokes and discrimination. The mural shows an enraged woman who will not be
ignored; it shows a woman seeking change. The strength that is inherent in all women is represented almost as a joke for ignorant male
viewers to conform to the ideal image of a strong, child-bearing woman. The purpose of "Uprising of the Mujeres" really seems to be
is an empowering image for women to feel strength and beauty, the way a woman should feel.
